Help

Goal

Find your way through the maze and get to the exit as fast as possible! Try to find the shortest path and try to collect all star coins to get a better result (and unlock bonus levels)!

Click on a square to rotate that square and its 8 surrounding squares 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise (dependent on the mode). This way, new paths are created! Only regular floor and wall squares can be rotated! Solid walls and squares next to them cannot be rotated! Try to keep the number of rotations as low as possible!

If a minotaur is present in the maze, be careful not to create a path between you and him, as he will hunt you down! Picking up a sword will prevent this from happening!

If you find an imprisoned maiden, don't forget to save her first! Do this by opening up a free path between her and the exit! Make sure the minotaur can't reach her!

Once upon a time, before he was called a Greek hero, Theseus was a simple man who fell in love with the beautiful Ariadne, daughter of King Minos of Crete. In order to marry her, he was given the quest to enter the Maze of Asterius, a maze full of mystery and danger, and bring back the treasures that were hidden inside. To aid him in his quest, Ariadne gave Theseus the power change the maze, allowing him to open up hidden paths and reach treasures that weren't reachable before. Fearless, Theseus stepped into the maze, unaware of the challenges that would follow...

Goal

Find your way through the maze and get to the green exit. Walk around using the WASD or arrow keys, or tap the player character and press the desired arrow. It is only possible to walk on floor tiles; stepping on an inner or outer wall tile is impossible.

By hovering over a tile with the mouse, or tapping a tile using touch controls, that tile and the 8 surrounding tiles will be highlighted. By clicking/tapping, this entire block of tiles will be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise, dependent on the mode. This way, new paths can be created. Outer wall tiles cannot be rotated, so hovering over (or tapping) these tiles or the tiles surrounding them won't highlight any tile!

Try to collect all 3 star coins in the maze to get the best result. Furthermore, the completion time, number of rotations, and number of moves will be saved, allowing them to be beaten in another try.

Theseus didn't have much trouble navigating through the maze. And collecting all these treasures wasn't that hard either! While thinking of his future with Ariadne, Theseus bravely ventured on. But then, all of a sudden, he noticed the presence of a cruel beast, a minotaur named Asterius, put in the maze to protect the treasures. Theseus, however, was unafraid and continued his quest, but knew he had to avoid this dangerous monster at all costs!

Goal

Avoid the minotaur at all costs! Whenever a path between the minotaur and the player has been created, the minotaur will attack the player. There is no way to avoid the attack. The level can be replayed afterwards, and all tiles will be put back to their original positions.

Theseus looked at his collection of glittering treasures. He was proud of his findings, and was happy that he didn't fall into the hands of the minotaur... yet. It would be time to slowly find a way out of this place. But... he was lost! Still being chased by Asterius, Theseus continued, hoping to find the exit. Hoping to get back to his Ariadne. But all he could find were even more walls!

Goal

Outer wall tiles are now also placed inside the maze. This means that these tiles, and their surrounding tiles, cannot be rotated!

Although Theseus' treasure collection kept growing, an exit of the maze was still not in sight. And Asterius was still chasing him! As if it were a gift of the gods, Theseus found a sword in one of the rooms of the maze. That could come in handy! Although he still had to find a way out, at least he could protect himself against the minotaur now!

Goal

Pick up the sword to protect yourself against the minotaur. Whenever a path opens up between the player and the minotaur, the minotaur will still attack the player, but this time, the player will automatically strike back. The minotaur will get wounded, and disappear from the level, together with the sword.

"Please, help me!" Surprised, Theseus looked around. He never expected someone else to be in here! And certainly not a young maiden! "I'm trapped here! That... monster... is going to eat me! Help! Please, help!" Of course, Theseus couldn't leave her like that. He had to help her, and guide her to the exit! Even though he didn't know where the exit was! But with his special power, he was certain that he could accomplish both!

Goal

Free the imprisoned maiden by opening up a path between her and the exit. When there's a path, the maiden will automatically escape. Make sure to prevent the minotaur from being able to attack her! Letting the maiden be killed, or reaching the exit without having freed the maiden will result in a level failure.

The End

Light! Theseus saw light! The exit was in sight! Theseus and the young maiden made a run for it. All of a sudden, Asterius appeared, and grabbed Theseus. Theseus fought back, struggled to survive; he couldn't give up, now he was so close! Wounded from earlier attacks, the minotaur was weak. Theseus raised his sword and gave a final blow to the monster. Asterius fell to the ground; the floor colored red. Theseus walked to the exit, and stepped out of the maze. All he could see was light. He survived.

While the maiden enjoyed her freedom, Theseus returned to Minos and Ariadne. She was happy to see him alive. King Minos accepted the treasures that Theseus found in the maze, and agreed to the wedding. Theseus and Ariadne were finally able to enjoy each other's presence and lived happily ever after.
